Sian Williams with short hair and red lipstick sits on a couch wearing a star-patterned shirt. Text about trauma and hair washing is on the wall.

This week’s issue of Hello includes an interview with me about my breast cancer and book, Rise.

In it I explain how talking to other people who had survived traumas, such as a mother who lost her daughter in the 7/7 London bombings, helped me get through the experience.

I said: “It really helped as, even though their stories were different to mine, they reminded me that they had been where I was and completely understood.

“Everybody gave me the most valuable lessons they had learnt.”

You can read the full article in the magazine, and the lessons I learnt in Rise.
